Biography

Dr. Ashutosh Mohanty, did his PhD in Environmental Governance at Utkal University ,India and MSc. in Urban Environmental Management at Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Presently he is working as Director and Associate Professor of Truman Graduate School-Public Administration (Affairs) joint Graduate School Programme with University of Missouri (Truman School of Public Affairs) in U. S. A. Before joining he was worked as Team Leader CEED-DRR programme and World Bank supported SMEs Development Programme for South Asia . He was also served as Visiting faculty for Master’s studies at International humanitarian and social work programme, Department of Christian Social Work, Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic. served as Regional Capacity Development Officer at International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Nepal and coordinated research based University network called as Himalayan University Consortium (HUC) under International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD, Kathmandu). HUC consists of 23 Universities (center of excellence contributing towards sustainable mountain development) among the 8 Himalayan Countries (India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, China, Bhutan, Afghanistan and Myanmar) of the Hindu Kush Himalayan (HKH), Region). Being team leader for the curriculum development of the Course for Kabul University, Faculty of Geosciences, Department of Environmental Protection and Disaster Management, Afghanistan. Coordinated Integrated & collaborative Research Programme (2008-2011). he associated with international research Centres like; National Centre for Atmospheric Research, USA, FK- Norway and ECODIT-USA. He has also worked as a resource person in Environmental Science, DRR and IWRM subjects at number of universities; (IOE-Tribhuban University Nepal, Kabul University Afghanistan, Lanzhou University. Chinna, IWFM -BUET-Bangladesh Utkal University. India etc) .He is a Steering Committee & Advisory Member of Kabul University Environment Protestation and Disaster Management Department, EPDM department Kabul, Afghanistan. Being an International Academician and Researcher with having interdisciplinary work proficiency in the field of study with; Environmtal Management, Green Economy, Climate Change Adoption and Resilience, Mountain Hazards Risk Reduction in Himalayan Countries and University Networks. He has specialization on Highland Mountain Hazards, Costal Hazard, Multi Hazard Early Warning System (Hydrological and Metrological), Super Storm/Cyclone/ Tornado and River Basin Management. He is also a resource person and life member of the Indian Institute of Public Administration, IIPA, New Delhi . I have also written several paper, book chapter on Amu Daria River Basin and Costal hazard in South Asia.
